The Ledue for Senate Campaign is building a better framework for how we think about government policy

While our foundation and principles serve as our compass with which to set a new course, our frameworks are our guidebook. Below is our starting point, the Ledue for Senate Team’s definitions for our 8 core policy areas.

FRAMEWORK DEFINITIONS

The Environment is the indispensable and interdependent web for all life. We seek to protect and nurture its health so that it can support us broadly and indefinitely. More >>

Commerce is the discourse which sets the financial direction that drives our economy, invests our wealth and creates our social structures. We seek a discourse bolstered by the wisdom of equitable opportunity, rooted in our acknowledgment of the abundance of our world. Through clear and balanced communication about the economy we intend to expand the definition of profit and guard against exploitation and deprivation.

The Economy is the vehicle that implements these interactive strategies; we seek to balance it for an equitable, sustainable and wealthier future for our people.

Education is the fuel for that vehicle, and it is the foundation of our country’s potential. We seek to empower people to develop their inherent gifts and talents, to shine a light on all truth and thus provide a basis for on-going transparency, and finally to call our fellow countrymen and countrywomen to meet their responsibilities as citizens within their communities.

Healthcare is the cornerstone of our communities, the height and measure of our society. We seek to strengthen this backbone by developing a system we can be proud of, a system in which all reach toward and then thrive within a partnership of health.

Welfare is the partner of healthcare and the safety net for our people. We seek to renew a system in which no one is swept under the rug, in which poverty is unacceptable and in which the value of each person is sacred. We seek, in other words, to evolve as an inclusive people, rather than an exclusive one.

Foreign Policy is the instrument with which we manage and support our interdependence with all of the nations and peoples of the world. We seek to shift our paradigm of interaction toward a respectful collaboration, built upon with mutual determination to face and reverse the disastrous effects of both global violence and climate change.

Defense is the guardian of our people and so the guardian of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We seek to protect the true security interests of our people across a comprehensive battlefront of issues. We seek to defend peace.
